Hi I'm Peter.
I'm a Colorado-based photographer, splitting time between canyon country and the high alpine. Thank you for taking time to explore my work!
I live in Colorado’s Grand Valley, where the desert of the Colorado Plateau rises toward the mountains of the Western Slope. I grew up exploring the vast wilds of the American West, falling deeper in love with the public lands that surround us with every outing. As a teen, a gifted camera became a companion on every hike and climb, it seems inevitable now that photography would come to inhabit nearly every corner of my life.
Time spent behind the lens has opened myriad doors through the years, including work with numerous elected officials, many unexpected expeditions, and plenty of unique photo projects across the country. I find myself now in a period of transition with an aim to help protect the public lands that so shape the communities I love most. My hope is that the photographs published on this site may spark even a fraction of the love and awe that these lands spark in so many who call them home.
Thank you for taking time to explore my work. If you have an idea, event, or expedition to be captured, please reach out, I want to work with you! All photo projects are unique and I want to make yours come to life!

I shoot with a documentary approach prioritizing natural light, candid moments, and photographs that feel true to the experience rather than overly staged. I pay attention to the small interactions, changing weather, movement, and details that give a scene its character, stepping in with direction when it is useful and otherwise allowing moments to unfold naturally. |
